Soheil's main focus is using GIS and coupled flow modeling tools (SWAT-MODFLOW) to estimate current and future water supply of the High Plains Aquifer, as a key member of the USDA-funded Ogallala Water Coordinated Agriculture Project.

Soheil is from Tehran, capital of Iran. He started studying Civil Engineering at Iran University of Science and Technology in 2005 and graduated with a B.Sc. degree in 2010. Right after that, he attended the graduate program at Sharif University of Technology and graduated with a M.Sc. degree in Water Resources Engineering in 2012. At Sharif University of Technology he worked on “Erosion Reduction at River Confluences with Submerged Vanes”. After his graduation he took a rest from academia for a while in order to experience industry. He worked as a junior water resources engineer for about 3 years in a private consulting firm in Iran. During this period he participated in several Value Engineering projects related to water resources conflicts across the Iran.
