Zaichen Xiang

Research Project:

Zaichen's main research focus is investigating strategies that will minimize irrigation-induced groundwater depletion in the High Plains Aquifer, USA. His main study region is southwest Kansas. He has developed a linked DSSAT-MODFLOW model for the region, to investigate the impact of management strategies and climate change on future groundwater supply. He is a key member of the USDA-funded Ogallala Water Coordinated Agriculture Project.
